Noosheen Alaverdi shares her own story of fleeing revolutionary Iran as a teenager in the early 80's. She talks about some of the persecution and lack of opportunities she experienced at home, the dangers and unknown she experienced on her journey, and the chaos and confusion as she struggled to find a new home once she got out.
Her story is obviously different than what many of the current refugees are experiencing on the US border, but there are a lot of similarities too. If you have a little time this afternoon, give it a listen.
